THE Current Pattern…

CURRENT print marks on dyed cloth overlap as a trap, the third color of two.

The dark sage “trap” is made when the puce and chartreuse overlap. The puce color is printed first, on “Tomato/Red-Orange Linen”, When dry to touch, chartreuse color is printed over the puce motifs, seemingly shadowing the puce print mark. The color overlap creates a vibrant “trap”, electrified, three colors, make a trap.

The motif is a gesture, created from the exterior of a brush stroke, directly lacquered onto the silk screen, crudely refined with torn tape. The motif appears as a brushstroke, when in actuality, the gesture is an abstract print mark. (Current, 26” x 26” half drop repeat)
